I am so looking forward to this coming Saturday! My loving friends and family have been kind enough to throw me and my husband a coed baby shower, and I couldn't be more grateful. To show my gratitude, as every shower-ee should, I decided to get these lovely ladies hostess gifts... But, I had a hard time finding something that fit in my budget that still shows them I care.
A candle? Too easy.
A gift certificate? Too cold.
Jewelry? Too expensive!
But, wait! All of my lovely hostesses love to cook... I can give them something they can actually use!
With the help of the amazing Donald, our new buyer over at Nest, I spotted a cookbook that's all about the bond of friendship and the recipes that make up the story of their journey. It's perfect! To personalize my gift, I wrapped each book up with some ribbon and a cooking spoon. And for that added touch, I bought some Japanese silk-screened paper and hand made the gift tags.
Here's what went into it:
The Book: The Recipe Club: A Tale of Food and Friendship - $24.95
The Ribbon: Courtesy of Nest. FYI - they gift wrap! - Free!
The Spoons: Pack of 5 wooden spoons from the grocery store - $8.00
The Gift Tags: Japanese Silk Screened Paper - $8.00
Total for each gift?? About $28 a piece!
(Hostesses... If you're reading, pretend you didn't!)
