the Staycation Recommendation

No airport security, no crowds, no travel time.  My first staycation was at the Mansion about 4 weeks ago–I'm hooked!

This past weekend, was long-awaited girls time. The cast: 2 mommies, 2 busy professionals. The result: very few options that work for all four of us–so the perfect solution was a Dallas hotel. Thankfully, Charlece, queen of planning, scoured all the rates, amenities, and deals to be had. She found us a great weekend at the Ritz.

What we got: 2 joining rooms with a total of $300 credit to use anywhere in the hotel, & a wonderful relaxing weekend of spa, pool. great food, great people and great service. My thoughts (hey-thanks for asking!):

Pool: it's good, not fabulous, but relatively good. Very nice staff, just enough room to lounge around without being too close to your oil-slicked lounge chair neighbor.

Fearings: Dean is always a crown pleaser. Table-side, he's probably the most personable chef in Dallas, and it doesn't hurt that he's pretty good at his job. I had the trio for a starter and I'll definitely be heading back for more of that.

Spa: Good. I love the relaxation room, which is a litmus tests I have for a truly great spa. My masseuse was Scott, and I'd recommend him. My girlfriend, however had a more mediocre experience. Maybe it's a little hit and miss? I'd say it's worth a try.

Patio/Bar: If you're into people watching, you'll love it. The bartenders, who were slammed on Saturday night, were great. The drinks are good and the atmosphere is fun.

Our other haunts–Hattie's, Eno's, & Nick and Sam's Grill. All great, but the latter being another hit or miss. I don't totally get that menu. The damn good fries are damn good, but some of the entrees (fish) are blechk.

Next, I might try a work staycation. I have lot's of planning to do for fall–great events are happening at Nest & I'm working on new product for Bell'invito & Nest, both.  I'd LOVE your suggestions!

Have a very happy Monday & stay optimistic!
