So, To Whom it May Concern...
I'm fully engulfed in Oscar Party planning. It just so happens that my birthday is also this weekend - license to live it up a little more, right? I'm headed with 7 other friends to a winter wonderland of skiing, great food, a little birthday, and a lot of Oscar. I've got 3ish more days to figure out the menu–or at least, my contribution for the evening of home-cooked gourmet.
The dilemma: my travel buddies are foodies! Two in particular are movie buffs. Not only that, but one of them touts having seen all the movies that have won oscars, and some freakishly high percent of the ones that have been nominated. She usually throws the soiree, conjuring up dishes with relevance to the nominated films. Me? I think I've seen 4 movies in the past 18 months. Crap!
I've got one definite favorite on my narrowed list of options. In honor of Sean Penn's film, Milk (which I've heard was incredible). I'm playing with the idea of mini-milkshakes. Something in a little shot glass. I have to admit to stealing (or being inspired by?) the idea from Abacus's desert menu. If it works out, I'll let ya know!
